CSIRO are seeking a Research Projects Officer - Critical Minerals (Identified Indigenous role)

Join the CSIRO Mineral Processing Program and be a part of a large R&D project on the production of high-purity alumina.

The three-year position is based in Perth, with an annual salary range of $68,000-$101,000 plus 15.4% superannuation.

To be considered you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent applied research or industry experience in Chemistry, Mineral Processing or Engineering.

  • A demonstrated history of maintaining health and safety requirements while working in a hazardous environment.

  • Experimental proficiency in broad range of laboratory-based procedures.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively and independently in a collaborative environment.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and colleagues, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and community.

  • Ability to work unsupervised with a high level of organisational and time management skills.

  • Familiarity/competency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Outlook).
