BAC Cultural Heritage Informant Register

Managing heritage matters is one of BAC’s most important responsibilities. We’ve developed a new fair and transparent heritage process to help us get it right.

BAC’s new process will:

  • remove bias to keep heritage decisions fair, and

  • increase transparency so we’re accountable to members.

We need the right people speaking for boodja, and all the right people need to be included.

The process is simple:

  • Members apply to be listed on the Ballardong Cultural Heritage Informant Register.

  • Taking advice from the CAC, the board determines whether the applicant is eligible to speak for boodja.

  • If eligible, they’ll be recorded on the register, and BAC’s heritage team will offer survey and monitoring opportunities to them on a rotating basis.

This process ensures that only people who have met the requirements are able to speak for Boodja, and opportunities are shared fairly among all eligible people.

BAC will then provide regular reports on who attends survey and monitoring activities, so we remain fully accountable to members.
