Ballardong Rangers receive funding

Funding awarded in Round 7 of the Aboriginal Ranger Program.

The Ballardong Aboriginal Corporation has been awarded $1,618,268 in Round 7 of the Western Australia Aboriginal Ranger Program, which is a significant milestone in establishing our Ballardong Ranger team.

The two-year funding will assist the Ballardong Rangers - healing country and healing connection, to care for land in the Wheatbelt.

We will employ 10 positions for women and men to become full time or part time rangers that care for Ballardong boodja. We'll also provide training for rangers, and purchase vehicles and equipment.

This is a proud moment for Ballardong people, our Board, our Cultural Advice Committee, and our staff.

The Aboriginal Ranger Program helps Aboriginal organisations employ and train Aboriginal people as rangers, coordinators and other management and support staff to undertake land and sea management activities.

We will keep you updated as we recruit rangers and establish the ranger program.
