Building Ballardong Heritage Capability
BAC is working to establish an in-house heritage survey service that strengthens Ballardong participation in the protection and management of cultural heritage across Ballardong Country.
The service will build BAC's internal capability while creating opportunities for Ballardong people to participate in heritage work, develop skills and knowledge, and contribute to culturally appropriate heritage processes.
What we're delivering
During 2026–27, BAC will establish the people, systems, governance and commercial arrangements required to progressively deliver heritage survey services through the Corporation.
Establish the heritage service model

Strengthen cultural governance and monitor pathways

Build Ballardong heritage capability
UnderwayDevelop a pool of Ballardong people able to participate in heritage surveys and monitoring, supported by practical training, mentoring and opportunities to build experience.
Develop professional heritage systems and records
UnderwayEstablish appropriate systems for heritage requests, scheduling, field information, records, mapping, documentation and project management while protecting culturally sensitive information.
Deliver and grow heritage services
