BAC is strengthening the systems, practices and relationships that support effective corporate and cultural governance. Strong governance helps ensure decisions are transparent, accountable and aligned with BAC's responsibilities to Ballardong people.
The project includes strengthening Board and Cultural Advice Committee processes, governance policies, compliance, reporting and the connection between corporate decision-making and appropriate cultural advice.
What we're delivering
During 2026–27, BAC will continue strengthening its governance framework, compliance systems and cultural governance arrangements while improving the quality and timeliness of information provided to the Board and Cultural Advice Committee.
Implement the Governance Development Plan

Strengthen compliance and statutory reporting
UnderwayMaintain clear compliance responsibilities, calendars and assurance processes so that BAC's statutory and regulatory obligations are identified, monitored and completed.
Improve corporate reporting and assurance
UnderwayEstablish consistent financial, risk, operational and corporate reporting so directors receive timely information to support oversight and decision-making.
Strengthen cultural governance pathways
UnderwayContinue clarifying the respective roles of the Board, Cultural Advice Committee and cultural advice processes so that cultural authority is appropriately reflected in BAC's governance and decision-making.
