BAC is working with Elders, members and communities to consider how Elders' voices can be strengthened within the Corporation's cultural governance and decision-making.
The project does not assume a particular governance model. Engagement will help identify the needs, principles and options that should guide the future role of Elders within BAC's governance framework.
What we're delivering
The 2026–27 program moves from preparation and community engagement through to options analysis, governance consideration and an appropriate member process.
Prepare the engagement approach

PlannedAnalyse the feedback received and develop practical options for strengthening Elders' voices, having regard to BAC's Rule Book, Cultural Advice Policy and existing governance arrangements.
Put the preferred pathway to members
PlannedFollowing cultural and corporate governance consideration, progress the recommended pathway through the appropriate member decision-making process.
