Message from the Board of Directors
The Board of the Ballardong Aboriginal Corporation wishes to update Members, and the broader Ballardong community, on two recent changes in the leadership of the Corporation.
At the December 2025 meeting of the Board of Directors, the Directors elected Murray Jones as the new Chair of the Corporation. The Board would like to thank outgoing Chair Tracey de Grussa for her hard work and dedication during her time as Chair of the Corporation. Tracey remains on in her position as a member-elected director of the Board.
Mathew Wilson, has recently completed his term as Ballardong’ s inaugural CEO. With the support of the Board, Mat has decided to move on from Ballardong to take on new challenges.
There is no doubt that Mat has played a significant role in the growth and development of the Ballardong Aboriginal Corporation since its inception. This work included supporting the establishment of our successful and growing ranger program and championing the awareness of the Noongar culture and community within Ballardong country, as well as his involvement in the Wheatbelt Leadership Team. The Board are very grateful to Mat for making these things happen during his time in the role.
While there have been many challenges across this establishment period, as can be expected with any new organisation, I am sure you will all join the Board in wishing Mat every success for the future.
Ms Jo Wilkie will take on the role of Interim CEO for a 3-month period on 19 January 2026 and will work 3 days per week (primarily based in Northam) during this transition period. Jo has worked with numerous not for profit organisations and brings decades of experience to the role. Please make Jo feel welcome.
The Board has commenced the process of recruiting a permanent CEO to take the Corporation forward and will keep members advised of our progress as decisions are made.
Murray Jones
Chair
Ballardong Aboriginal Corporation
