The Ballardong Aboriginal Corporation ICN 9605 (BAC) is a newly created corporation and represents the traditional owners of the Ballardong region of the south west of Western Australia.

BAC works to manage native title benefits, while also advancing and strengthening Noongar culture, language, heritage, and society.

The BAC has an important role in the South West Native Title Settlement with the WA Government. The Settlement resolves all native title claims in the southwest of the state in exchange for around $1.3 billion in land and other benefits for the Noongar people.


Senior Ballardong Ranger (two positions) Section 50D

We are seeking two Senior Ballardong Rangers to Care for Country and assist in implementing project activities and mentoring field staff under the direction of senior staff.

The Senior Ballardong Ranger will be involved in planning and implementing land management and conservation activities with landholders and stakeholders, and engaging in cultural burning, cultural heritage management, ecological restoration, catchment management, pest management, community engagement, and threatened species management.

There are two positions - a female Senior Ballardong Ranger and a male Senior Ballardong Ranger. This recruitment pool will be used to fill the current vacancies and future vacancies as they arise.

The positions are full-time/part time/casual/fixed term, based in Northam. Frequent travel is required across the Ballardong region. The annual salary is $77,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Lands Coordinator (Section 51)

We are seeking a Lands Coordinator to deliver land outcomes under the Ballardong Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) that provide economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits for the Ballardong community.

The position will work closely with various stakeholders to assess and on-board Noongar Land Estate lands within the Ballardong ILUA area and progress land development and land management related projects.

Under section 51 of the Equal Employment Opportunity ACT 1984, Aboriginal people are encouraged to apply and identify themselves as being of Aboriginal descent in the recruitment process.

The annual salary range is $100,000 - $110,000 per annum depending on skills/experience, plus superannuation.

The role is based in Northam or Perth with flexible work arrangements including the ability to WFH. There will be frequent travel required across the Ballardong region to meet with members and stakeholders, and to support board and committee meetings.
